Frame Gallery Gifts & Art Hosts “Art of Abstraction” Watercolor Workshop with Lendon Noe

Enjoy a Hands-on, Full-Day Art Workshop for all Levels on Sept. 12

Frame Gallery Gifts and Art welcomes back Jackson, Tennessee, artist Lendon Noe, who will lead a full-day “Art of Abstraction” art workshop for all experience levels on Saturday, September 12, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Limited to 8 participants, the session will involve experimenting with building abstract images using watercolor and other water-soluble media. This hands-on workshop invites students to move beyond representation and discover how line, shape, color, texture, and composition can serve as expressive tools.

Noe will guide participants in exploring how artists use layering, repetition, contrast, movement, and visual rhythm to create meaningful compositions. Noe says, “The emphasis is on curiosity and discovery, allowing ideas to develop through the process rather than focusing on perfection.”

Class Schedule:

• 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.: Introduction, exercises, and exploration

• 12:00–1:00 p.m.: Lunch break (brown bag or enjoy one of Sewanee’s local restaurants)

• 1:00–4:00 p.m.: Studio time and individual guidance

Participants will leave with new approaches to abstraction, a deeper understanding of abstract art, and one or more original works created during the workshop.
