More than 30 artists will open their studios and galleries to the public during Tennessee Craft-South’s 2026 Studio & Gallery Tour, Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free, self-guided tour includes 17 stops in Sewanee, Monteagle, Cowan, Winchester, and Wartrace, featuring textiles, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, painting, metalwork, and woodwork.

Now celebrating its 31st anniversary, Tennessee Craft-South is the regional chapter of Tennessee Craft, a statewide organization that supports and promotes handmade arts and crafts throughout Tennessee.

“We’re excited to celebrate our 31st anniversary with more artists participating than ever before,” said Merissa Tobler, chair of the 2026 Studio & Gallery Tour. “The tour is a wonderful opportunity to meet local artists, explore their creative spaces, and discover the talent in our community.”

Sewanee stops include the studios of Merissa Tobler, Pippa Browne, Claire Reishman, and Ben Potter; the American Legion Hall; the Spencer and Gallery Rooms at St. Andrew’s-Sewanee School (SAS); Stacy Clark Barking Birds Antiques; and Frame Gallery Gifts and Art.

In Monteagle, open studios and galleries include Sounding Stone Gallery, The Gallery at Monteagle Assembly, and Linda Kerlin Studio.

Cowan Center for the Arts and Artisan Depot Gallery in Cowan, Anne Bagby Studio and Abraham Art Gallery in Winchester, and The Wartrace Emporium in nearby Wartrace will also participate.

The SAS Gallery Room will once again feature a group exhibition of work by Tennessee Craft-South members, SAS faculty, and students. The exhibition opens Nov. 10 and runs Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; it will also be open during the 2026 Studio & Gallery Tour.

The Empty Tables Project returns this year at the American Legion Hall in Sewanee. This artist-led initiative, sponsored by Tennessee Craft-South, raises awareness about local hunger and supports the Community Action Committee, Grundy County Food Bank, and Morton Memorial Church. Donors receive a piece of artist-donated work, and all proceeds buy food for those in need.

This year’s Studio & Gallery Tour sponsors include: Artisan Depot Gallery, Beauty by Tabitha, Big A Marketing, The Blue Chair Tavern, Bodyworks Youniversity, Cardinal Lake Pottery, ECO E-Bikes, First Choice Storage, Frame Gallery Gifts and Art, John Runkle Architects, Lemon Fair, LUNCH, Montee Tailored Smiles, Mooney’s Market, Phil Ponder Prints, Sewanee Realty, Shenanigans, Shull Chiropractic, Sounding Stone Gallery, Sublime Haven Boutique Spa, Taylor’s Mercantile, and Woody’s Bicycles.

Bright yellow signs will mark the tour route, and maps are available at all tour and sponsor locations, in the Sewanee Mountain Messenger, and online at https://tennesseecraft.org/members/chapters/south. Most locations will offer light refreshments.
