The Cultural Arts Alliance of Walton County’s Flutterby Arts Festival returns to Watersound for its 34th year on Sunday, Nov. 8, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This free festival celebrates art, creativity, science, and the monarch butterfly, and it is one of South Walton’s longest-running family traditions.
Visitors can shop a curated market of professional artists, see the student art exhibit, and play lawn games. Young festivalgoers can try hands-on art projects, explore the science station, and join the butterfly parade, a crowd favorite.
The festival takes place at 85 Origins Main St., and admission is free. Some activities require tickets, which you can buy at the CAA welcome and information tents. On-site parking, including accessible parking, is available, along with food trucks and a cash bar. Volunteers are welcome and can sign up through the Cultural Arts Alliance website.
The festival is the finale of a full Flutterby weekend. On Friday, Nov. 6, the First Friday Concert features singer-songwriter Jessica Willis Fisher, with the Webb Wilder Trio opening from 6 to 8 p.m. On Saturday, Nov. 7, families can bring blankets and lawn chairs to Flutterby Film Night for a screening of “A Bug’s Life” under the stars from 6 to 8 p.m. Both events are free and take place at the same location.
