Beyond Compliance: Get Credit for Telling Your Story

With Labor Day around the corner, we're glad you're here to read the latest ELEVATED NEWS issue before the long weekend hits.

This month’s throughline: doing more than what's required isn't the same as getting credit for it — for fisheries, for businesses, and for our partners below, all of whom have plenty worth sharing.

Here's what's new, including plans for your Labor Day holiday weekend on the Emerald Coast and beyond.

NEW ON THE BLOG

Necessary, Not Sufficient: Lobster Fishery Management for Business

We just returned from our annual lobster trip to the Florida Keys with a smaller catch than usual, and on our last recreational dive at Looe Key National Marine Sanctuary, I didn't see a single lobster hiding in the reef where I'd noticed several just two years ago.

It led me to dig into a business lesson hidden in the environmental data: regulation alone doesn't guarantee good outcomes. Businesses that have self-imposed ethical and environmental standards have a valuable public relations opportunity to share those stories. Read our latest article here.

WEBSITE DESIGN

Recorda-g, Inc.

We are thrilled to work with Missouri-based supplier Recorda-g to design an upgraded Squarespace website. Recorda-g invented the proprietary GP11AL Impact Recorder, a reusable, battery-free device that records the maximum shock a shipment takes in transit. An ink-coated ball leaves a measurable impression on a replaceable liner when a package is dropped or mishandled, giving shippers and manufacturers hard evidence of how their product was handled during shipping. Visit Recorda-g's website for product specifications, pricing, and ordering details.

The Consulting RD

We're excited to welcome The Consulting RD, led by Jade Barry, RDN, LDN, to our client roster. Barry’s practice serves the state of Tennessee, offering individual nutrition counseling, functional lab testing, and facility services (i.e., dietitian staffing and kitchen services, including compliance and quality assurance). We updated her site design with a new homepage banner video, new content, and style updates that put her Tennessee facility services front and center alongside her individual practice. Visit The Consulting RD's website to learn more.

Hosts Sandy Baird, MBA, and Dr. Dave Striegel break down the three roles every dentist has to master on the road to ownership (i.e., clinician, manager, and owner), covering seller mentorship, loan requirements and cash flow, building an advisory team, and navigating staff and family dynamics during the transition. A must-listen for any dental associate considering practice ownership.

JC's Gourmet's candied Jommin' Jalapeños have found a new home: Beach Happy Cafe & Cocktails is using them to make the pepper jelly in its "Smoked Tuna Dip Crowd Favorite," served with lavash crackers.

Stop by the Seagrove Beach, Fla., location to try it, and watch for a second Beach Happy location in Watercolor, planned to open after the New Year.

Visit JC's Gourmet's website to view its menu and partner locations along the Emerald Coast.
